HRD Umwelttechnik GmbH is a Germany-based advisory firm specializing in compliant recycled plastic supply chains between Europe and China. Founded in 2018 in Nuremberg, we help European packaging manufacturers, automotive suppliers, and plastics processors source PPWR- and ELVR-compliant recycled plastic pellets from China.

Why We Do This

Recycled plastic sourcing is not just a procurement task—it is a compliance challenge. European buyers face a difficult reality: Chinese suppliers may hold certifications that look valid but do not cover export products. Factories may pass a sample test but fail a full compliance audit. Certifications expire, ownership changes, and production conditions shift.

We founded HRD Umwelttechnik to solve this problem. We do not simply sell recycled pellets. We build compliant, traceable, and stable supply chains based on our clients’ actual production and regulatory requirements.

Our Core Value

Unlike traditional trading companies, we focus on supplier pre-screening, compliance verification, and ongoing monitoring. Our value is not a list of suppliers—it is the judgment to know which suppliers are genuinely compliant, and the discipline to keep verifying them over time.

How We Work

We screen Chinese recycled plastic suppliers against four core criteria:

  1. Certification scope – Does the EN 15343 or RecyClass certification cover export products?

  2. EFSA assessment – Has the recycling process been assessed for food-contact applications?

  3. Contaminant testing – Are heavy metal and PFAS test reports valid and complete?

  4. Traceability – Can the supplier provide full chain-of-custody documentation?

Our database currently includes 44 pre-vetted Chinese suppliers. We continuously monitor their compliance status—adding qualified suppliers and removing those that fall short.
